day 08: may 5, 2005.
this is busy day. ducky and poteto had sleep on because of tiresome keiko at tokyo gakuen. around ten thirty poteto moving to kitchen for... preparation of super big breakfast! final meal had japanese-style hanpen fritter (like bigger fish finger but with fish cake), potato (not poteto) and cheese and onion fry, sausage, cucumber salad, scrambled egg, carrot (in usagi and heart and star!), choco croissant and speshial for ducky, heart-shape sunny-side egg! it was long and tasty eating while watching some baseball all the way to lunchtime! and ducky wash plates again, poteto is made happy! *HUG* very full to nose flow out with egg scrambles...
return to room for lazing and dota playing... ducky still had space for lunch munchies for onigiri! =o weather was good and lazy feel, so ducky and poteto took long time to leave for homeikan ryokan, almost thinking not want to go. but at last beginnings of packing and off to homeikan! it is not so far from waseda, and toudai-mae eki is resembling of kyoto eki with have bright colouring doors. it is said on homeikan website to be three minute walk starting from toudai-mae. ducky was holding confidence for route after looked map, poteto was sure from sharingan-spotting-sign on wall. both are quickly walkers, it was shortest journey route walked... final journey is fifteen minutes. -_- in japan to guess time for walk, must be measured by national sprinter athelet. before directly head to homeikan, stopped in dusklight to take photo of akamon, tokyo university (toudai) famous red, edo-period style wooden gate. also stopped at combini for snack and onigiri to keep in room for hungry ducky.
some lost time in backalley and neighbour place... homeikan! stay in bekkan branch (separate building) and is very rustic beauty. truly traditional type ryokan with many wooden and bonsai type decoration. floor is cobble-stones similar, with smooth pebble and genkan. room bigger and more so splendid than photos seen, with definitely rare experience. even fridge and tv in room! and also because window left open to enter chilly night air, mosquito friend that ducky had catch. hyakumaru laptop was brougth together, but... both forgot to bring adaptor plug, and so could not continuing watch of casshern... is most silly thing of day. after exploraiton of other bigger shared ofuro and other corridor, and garden, ducky and poteto went to find dinner and walk around quiet cool night. dinner at nakau, good foods for low prices, enjoyable. nice strolling and looking at jidouhanbaiki (drinks machines?) to find some ducky like strawberry milk. and then snacks at combini. after room into returns, ducky feeling funny in stomach and so rest... sitting quietly and watched jackie chan movie (in japanese) is "accidental spy" or something. poteto made sencha for both to drink, very relaxful time together. enjoy company quietly until time for bath in big private family bath. finally ducky daring to enter boiling soup ofuro! =D yokatta! after bath is snack of warabimochi (like cold sticky transparent mochi jelly, ate with black sugar syrup and soyabean powder, very yummy!)... at last lights turn out very late, near three?
